Real folds come in all shapes, sizes, and orientations. You can mount our pieces in almost any orientation and create a perfectly plausible scene. Or bend them around nearly any curve to create new fold shapes unique to your layout! Folds 2: Dimensions 6 by 6 inches. Basically a vertical cut across an angular fold. Makes a nice small stand-alone outcrop, or join it with others to make three-dimensional hillsides. Folds 4: Dimensions 10 by 4 inches. This depicts thin layers of rock that have been gently folded. Looks great either standing on edge as a rock cut, or lying down flat as a bare bedrock hilltop. Folds 5: Dimensions 8 by 5 inches. Similar to the gentle folds in Folds 1, but with a notch where the rock has been eroded away. Folds 8: One of our most impressive folded rocks, this piece measures 17 inches by 5 inches. It is best used as a vertical rock cut, with the folded beds standing almost vertically. New Englanders will feel right at home with this one. Folds 10: (Three pieces). Together, these three make a good choice for modeling the part of the Appalachians known as the "Valley and Ridge Province," extending from Pennsylvania south into Tennessee. All three can be used in almost any orientation, so you can make anticlines or synclines as you see fit. Two of the three pieces depict gentle folds, with only a few degrees of curvature. They can be stacked one over the other, as we've shown here, or independently. The third piece is a much tighter structure, but is still common in folded areas. Notice something missing? Some of our products in the "Folds" line are being retooled, and should be available again in a few months.
